.Design and draw a plush toy
Create and design an original plush toy. Use an A4 white piece of paper and grab your pencils and let your imagination run wild! You might even want to enter your toy design into the EPS Toy Design Competition (go to Storypark for more details) or just take a photo and show your teachers. Investigation time
Make ice-cream
1 tablespoon of sugar cup of milk teaspoon of vanilla essence 6 tablespoons of rock salt (or use regular table salt as a substitute) 2 cups of ice 4 litre zip lock bag (approx. size) litre zip lock bag (approx. size)Making Ice-cream 1. Mix the half-and-half, sugar, and vanilla extract together in a pitcher. 2. Pour about a cup of the mixture in each student’s sandwich bag. 3. Fill a gallon size Ziploc bag about half full of ice. Add 1/3 cup of salt. 4. Place 2 sealed, sandwich bags with the mixture in each large bag. Seal the bag firmly. 5. Students take turns shaking the bag vigorously for about 7-10 minutes, pausing to record changes they observe on their lab sheet. |
Make butter
Half fill a glass jar with thickened cream. Tightly secure the lid. Shake the jar intil the butter forms. |
